  • Some email marketing automations I’m working on

It’s been another scorcher of a day here in Notts today.

Hitting a lovely 24 degrees, I’m typing this email sitting in my back garden enjoying the sun.

    While it lasts, lol.

And sipping a nice cuppa tea…

One of the biggest things you can do to speed up your email marketing is adding automation.

And I’ve been going through some email automation training I have.

Along with spending some time checking a few of the automations’ I’ve set up in Kit.

Seeing how well the emails are converting. And how well the rules that I’ve applied are working.

Some of the automations I currently have in place are:

✅ 30-day follow-up sequence for my new lead magnet.
✅ Rules to add various tags to subscribers when they click on a link
✅ Abandon cart emails (working on adding all these to my products.)

There’s also a re-engagement automation I’ve set up for subscribers who have gone cold…

(That is subscribers who haven’t engaged with your emails in a while.)

Which requires some editing to make it better.

But the idea of this is after a set period of inactivity a subscriber will get added to this automation automatically.

And if a link has not been clicked then after several days or so the subscriber will then be automatically unsubscribed.

And this will be fully automated…

it’ll check every 90 days or so if the subscriber has gone cold and automatically add them to the automation.

Saving a HUGE amount of time having to check manually.

If you not using automation in your email marketing, then you should seriously consider it… it’s a BIG time saver.

    Still not convinced?

Here are some stats pulled from Google:

In 2025, email marketing remains a powerful and effective channel, with an expected global user base of 4.6 billion.

Email marketing boasts a high ROI, with an estimated return of $36 for every $1 spent.

Automated emails, in particular, show significant engagement metrics, with higher open rates and click-through rates compared to traditional campaigns.

Now let’s talk about email list building…

  • What most copywriters DON’T do but should

If you know anything about copywriting, then you know that you need to have a “swipe file”.

Of headlines, bullet points sales pages etc.

Now something I’ve not long learned from Gary Halbert’s newsletter.

Is that most copywriters don’t realize that they should also have a swipe file of…

    Interesting Facts!

    Yep, that’s right.

And in his newsletter, that’s now free online to access.

Gary gives 12 facts with examples of how to use them.

The first three facts are below:

    1. If Jell-O is hooked up to an EEG, it registers movements virtually identical to the brain waves of a healthy adult.

    2. On average, a Twinkie will explode in a microwave in 45 seconds.

    3. 100 shares of McDonald’s stock worth $2,250 when it was first offered in 1965 was worth more than 1.4 million dollars 30 years later in 1995.

And here are two examples he used in sales pages…

    First Example

    “Dear Friend,

If Jell-O is hooked up to an EEG, it registers movements virtually identical to the brain waves of a healthy adult.

I mention this because I just returned from a seminar of so-called “webmaster experts”.

And I think if you hooked up their brains to an EEG machine, their brain waves would be inferior to the brain waves of plain, ol’ Jell-O.

It seems to me, none of them knew anything of real value about enhancing website profits. Like the few secrets I am about to reveal in this letter:”

    Second Example

    Dear Friend,

On average, a Twinkie will explode in a microwave in 45 seconds.

This is, I believe, less time than it takes for a prospect to go ballistic when he or she is put on hold or into “voicemail hell”.

Only stupid marketers allow this to happen.

If you sell anything that people can order by phone, you need to know about some of the secrets in my new book called ”17 Magic Ways To Turn Incoming Telephone Calls Into Massive Amounts Of Money”.

Interest facts are great to use in all your marketing.

If you want to read the full newsletter on this search Google for “Gary Halbert Newsletter Interesting Facts.”

  • Did a cat really do this?

was browsing the old tinternet when this caught my eye…

You may have seen this on the NBC News.

Police received a 911 call from Gary Rosheisen’s apartment but apparently, there was no one on the phone.

And when police called back to check that everything was OK.

And no one answered they decided to check things out.

    Upon arriving at the apartment…

…a police officer said that an orange-and-tanned striped cat was lying by the telephone on the living room floor.

And Gary (the cat’s owner) had fallen out of his wheelchair on the floor near his bed.

Gary said he couldn’t get up because of the pain from osteoporosis and ministrokes that disrupt his balance.

Gary said he had been trying to teach his cat Tommy (he got three years ago) to dial 911.

But he was unsure if the training worked.

It reminds me of the film Cats & Dogs which came out in 2001.

Where both cats and dogs act dumb around humans, and both have secret headquarters.

Could this cat be one of those highly trained Ninja cats?

One day we could be the ones wearing the collars and they’ll be leading us, lol.

  • Have you ever studied memory training?

I had to sort out a new laptop for a new starter in the company I currently work for.

I tend to get the bus as it’s a heck of a lot quicker.

The car I had (a dark green 3-door Corsa) I ended up scrapping almost six years ago now.

I can quite literally look out my living room window and see the bus stop…

That’s how close it is. so I’ve never bothered getting another car.

When I had one, I found it too much hassle trying to find somewhere to park in the middle of the city…

Quite a few years ago now I came across a book on memory training called “Master Your Memory” by Tony Buzan.

    On Mnemonics as it’s known…

…I first encountered Mnemonics in a book of magic tricks when I was at school.

    To aid the memory.

Applying the memory system in the book allowed you then to memorize a huge number of boring facts by turning them into an engaging story.

Although at that time a lot wasn’t known on the workings of the human mind.

More recent studies now show that these techniques are a natural way for the human brain to work… and remember things.

As the great founding father of internet marketing… Ken McCarthy said in his copywriting course.
“Stories are the chief means by which human beings communicate and process information.”

And that’s why all most well-known ancient religious texts are in story format because you can remember them better.

And that’s why telling stories works so great in all your communications.

  • I’ve just upgraded to ThriveCart Pro+

I logged into my ThriveCart account today and was greeted with a new interface.

When I first saw it… I thought “What the fu*K”.

I was initially caught by surprise by the change in the interface.

And I also didn’t realize at first that I could also upgrade for free, lol.

Since I already have a ThriveCart Pro account,

I clicked on the small green thin banner to upgrade to ThriveCart Pro+ expecting to see the cost of the upgrade.

I don’t know how on earth I missed that it was a FREE upgrade.

After going through the initial setup I had the option of upgrading all my products to use Stripe Connect+.

This is for a business account for Stripe.

    Looking on Google it said:

“It allows a business to take a payment from a customer and split it between several other businesses.

This includes the Stripe Connect platform itself, plus other parties, like drivers, shoppers, or other service providers.

Connect also enables software platforms to offer payment functionality to their customers.”

I’ve had a pro account now for about 3 years.

Since I don’t use PayPal, Stripe has been a great alternative for taking payments.

The new ThriveCart Pro+ account… offers enhanced reporting, advanced analytics, multiple order bumps and more.

There’s now a max of 6 order bumps for each digital product.

(Though I doubt I’ll ever use six, maybe two, three at the max.)

No doubt there are going to be some bugs like any new features being rolled out.

I think it’ll be a little while yet before I add more than one order bump to my products.

  • One interesting fact about Leonardo…

Everyone’s heard of Leonardo Da Vinci…

There have even been films made about him.

Considered as one of the most prolific inventors in history…

…that spent hours upon hours creating and concocting inventions and innovations.

In a variety of fields including flight, warfare, and public water systems.

But did you know that Leonardo da Vinci’s last name…

Da Vinci wasn’t his last name?

(I didn’t either, that is until 5 minutes before writing this email, lol.)

His actual full name was Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci.

    da Vinci means…

    “From Vinci”, Florence Italy.

    (The place he was from.)

    Anyway…

    Have a great day.

  • Why time is money?

I hope you’re enjoying the Easter Sunday.

    Whatever you’re doing today.

Last night I spent a few hours watching a TV series on itvX catchup.

(While eating an easter egg, my favourite one with the Whisper bar. Yum.)

Called Snowpiercer. Set not too far in the future.

About a specially designed train that you could say is like Noah’s Ark.

    With a lot less animals.

It based on a world where most of the human and animal population has died.

The whole earth becomes a ball of ice.

When the earth’s temperature plumets to sub-zero temperatures. Every living thing that’s outside is dead within seconds.

If you haven’t seen it and you’re into sci-fi stuff like this then I highly recommend it…

I was reminded today of how you should be careful in how you spend your time.

There’s a saying from Gene Simmons book “Sex Money Kiss”.

“Get rid of things that take up TOO MUCH of your time… especially those things that don’t make you MONEY.”

There’s also a short example of this that Gene’s friend Rich Abrahm told him that crystalizes this idea:
“Rich’s high school teacher asked one of the students to stand in front of the class.

He gave the kid a dollar and asked him look at the clock on the wall, make a note of the time and then tear the dollar into little bits.

The kid hesitated, then did as he instructured.
It was 10:16 am and the dollar was in little bits.
    Now what? The teacher said.

“Notice the time? 10:16? You will never have that minute back, ever again.
    But that dollar?

You can always make more dollars.”

    Gene goes on to say…

that every day you should be doing something to make money.

Gene talks about how he had two paper rounds, played part time in a band.

He ran his home-published magazine called Fanzines and did his homework.

Now I don’t know about you but the only thing I did that was anywhere close to this was having a paper round. Lol.

Fortunately, today’s a lot easier for people to make money with the internet.

  • Have you tried this great video hosting tool yet?

Well, it looks like the sun has decided to go into hiding.

It’s a wet and cold day here in Notts today.

When I first started creating my upsell, I needed a platform to host my videos for the training.

I did a trial of Vimeo, and although it was quite good, I found it a tad expensive.

After I came across this excellent alternative that I’ve now been testing for the past ten months or so.

And found it to be a VERY cheap alternative to Vimeo.

That’s as good as Vimeo and other more expensive options out there.

And I thought I’d put this on your radar…

    It’s called Bunney.net

That not only is great for videos but also for storing files to deliver to your subscriber and customers.

I’ve now been using it ten months and, in that time, I’ve only added $10 to my account so that’s a mere $1 a month.

I haven’t yet used it to store any files as I wanted to test the video hosting side.

Which I must admit is pretty damn good… from being able to customize the colour of the player to the security.

If you haven’t tried it and you’re looking for an inexpensive alternative to the more expensive options out there then I highly recommend you take a look.

A pay as you go alternative.

That’s been great for me for hosting videos.

Now I need to remember to start using it for files for product delivery and lead magnets, etc.

You can see the screenshot below of my account of what I’ve used.

And that I’ve not long added another $10 today.

I’ve about 24 videos so not a huge amount.

    It’s well worth testing out.

Give a try and see what you think.

  • Ideally you should offer this to first time buyers

I was flipping through some notes I took from a book I read…

The book has some great marketing lessons.

    And I’ve mentioned this before.

It’s amazing the things you learn when you go through a book or training a few times.

The book I’m referring to is Gary Halbert’s Boron Letters.

One specific section on page 141 of the Kindle book says:

“Ideally, you want to offer first-time buyers three price points.”

    • The Cheapo Option – which has what you need.
    • The Deluxe or Mid-Priced Option with some bells and whistles.
    • The Supreme Package with Prestige Service

And Dan Kennedy even mentions this in his trainings.

Something about creating a psychological behavior…

…where most people will be tempted to pick the middle option of the three.

That when the potential buyer sees the more expensive option that the middle option now looks less expensive.

Disney also do this with certain items, like their balls.

You can see an example of this pricing option below from Pilot.

This sort of pricing strategy is referred to as tiered pricing.

And you can see another example of this I used in my Niche Goldmine offer.

    Where I have:

    • Basic: Niche Goldmine
    • Pro: Niche Goldmine
    • Elite: Niche Goldmine

I think offering three price points on my front-end offer pushed the sales up.

And it’s something well worth doing if you can.

  • A simple way to start building your email list

I was looking through some of my Facebook messages today…

From people who’ve sent me a friend request.

I accepted this particular person’s friend request and checked out their profile.

On their profile, they linked to an opt-in page.

This person built a simple opt-in page (below) using Systeme.io.

Curious, I opted in to see how this person was building their list.

And once I opted in, I was then taken straight to a free front-end offer of an affiliate offer.

A free video training that you had to sign up for to access.

From what I can tell, he’s making simple posts daily on Facebook. Although he did make a post on how much traffic he got from YouTube.

So you see, it’s extremely easy to start building an email list.

Find a suitable affiliate offer from, say, ClickBank that offers a free front-end lead magnet of some sort.

(Check the affiliate section for these, I’ve found a few in the past.)

Create an opt-in page using something like the free version of Systeme.io that you can also use for sending emails and more.

As you can see by the example above it doesn’t have to be anything great. Simple is often better.

Create a 3–5-day follow-up email sequence for when anyone subscribes.

Write a daily email and post it on Facebook…

(While also building up your friends list.)

What’s that, you haven’t got an email list?

    No problemo…

Open a Google Doc and write out an email as though you have an email to send it to.

Then copy and paste it to Facebook, make sure to have a link in your profile to your opt-in page.

    This will do two things.

    1. Improve your email copy

    2. Get your first couple of subscribers

    Will this work? Sure.

But DON’T expect a flood of traffic, but rather a trickle.

And for the past two months or so, I’ve been doing just that…

You could, of course, turn that email into a video and post it on YouTube and a couple of other social media channels.

To help speed this up a bit.

Not that I’ve turned any of my emails into videos.

Or even do a run of solo or Facebook ads to speed up the process of getting subscribers.

If you’re going to this totally organic, then you’re going to need a lot of patience… NOT something I’ve got, lol.

    Anyway…

Have you taken a gander at Tony Shepherd’s Flipping The Switch Course yet?

Once you start building you email list you need to build the know, like and trust factor in your email marketing.

And that’s where Tony Shepherd’s course may be able to help.

That could take you to four or five figures a month.

A method for creating a unique ‘Trust Ecosystem’ that Tony uses to get prospects to buy from him again and again.

Tony will go into mindset and attitude which is a massive part of finding success with your online business.

He’ll look at how to break free from the mindset limitations you probably don’t even know you have (life-changing stuff) and how to acquire and keep a million dollar mindset even if you ‘only’ choose to earn five figures a month part-time.

Sharing secrets ( and Tony does think they genuinely ARE secrets) that he’s learned about copywriting, conversions, traffic, formulas for generating money on demand, how to produce ‘pay the bills’ cash to take the pressure off while you concentrate on making big money.
