What can you learn from the 49ers?

Almost everyone has heard of the 49ers even if they don’t live in the US, like me…

I came across an article about the 49ers, how the 49ers had a crushing defeat against the super-solid Ravens.

Now I’m not really a fan of American football, although I have from time to time sat watching it on TV, when I came across this article online about the 49ers, the last bit of the article caught my eye.

It read…

“The 49ers have been growing their self-belief all season long, but there was a potential Sunday for a setback, for that confidence to take a big hit although they lost, they were still unbroken”

Also, Sherman, wrote, “You always learn more from losses than you do from wins”.

I thought to myself “how true that is!”

It’s through the hard times we learn the most about ourselves and what we truly are capable of. But most often than not most people tend to let their fears paralyze them, they exaggerate in their mind all the negative things that could happen and focus more on the negative rather than the positive.

A great book I read about this is called Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway by Susan Jeffers.

To be successful online you have to have a success mentality and believe in yourself.

When I was learning to drive, I failed my driving test miserably and it took me more than 3 attempts, family members were telling me to give it up, that it wasn’t meant to be. They would say “your wasting money.”

In my mind, I thought if I stop now I would have definitely wasted the money I’ve already spent, you see since I was about 20 years old I’ve been taking driving lessons on and off, and 20 odd years later I still hadn’t taken my test.

I set in mind that I was going to do it and no matter if I hadn’t got the money, this time I wasn’t going to stop till I passed my test.

You see I knew I could do it, I passed the theory 3 times and always on the first attempt, while other people I knew failed this on their first attempt.

The problem is I’m stubborn and the more people told me to give it up the more determined it made me…

Yes, it was a knockback to my confidence on more than one occasion, I felt fu*ked of and ready to quit.

But I knew that if I quitted that I would have failed for sure. So I kept at it, having failure after repeated failures.

Then what seemed like the impossible happened, I passed my test and you know what, to me, it didn’t feel like a big deal at the time. I had firmly set in my mind that I was going to pass my car test and I was at that point in my mind that I had no doubts about this.

You see you have to be prepared to fail a lot before you become successful and you have to have a belief that YOU can do whatever you set your mind too.

How Arizona helped to revolutionize the fast-food industry

In 1975 Arizona helped revolutionize the fast food industry when McDonald’s in Sierra Vista opened their first drive-through window.

You see the owner of the McDonald’s franchise near Fort Huachuca base faced a problem…

At the time, soldiers from Fort Huachuca were not allowed to get out of their vehicles off-post while wearing fatigues.

Do you know what the ingenious dude did?

No…

He pushed out one wall and installed a sliding glass window and in no time at all he had a queue of soldiers stretched around the building, while big Mac’s flew out the window as fast as could be made.

So, the owner found a need a convenient place for soldiers to get grub, and what better place than near their base. Then he solved a problem of how to get food to those soldiers by installing a sliding glass window.

This simple idea revolutionized the fast food industry forever changing the eating habits of millions of people around the world.

This just shows all you need to do is look around you and see what problems people are having then come up with a solution to that problem.

If you’ve been in internet marketing for any length of time no doubt you have read the usual stuff on how to find problems and solutions. Checking forums in your niche to see what questions are being posted and what the replies are to those post, checking social media sites such as Facebook especially in groups to see what’s being posted there.

But then how do you validate an idea to see if it’s potentially profitable?

By checking out the existing market…

Look at what’s ALREADY being sold, what’s the main problem they’re focusing on and what solution are they’re given?

Yes, this will take time to research.

But you’ll reap the benefits!

3 Tools I use for finding great content

1. Answer The Public

If you find yourself stuck on what to write about either for your blog posts or emails, then you’ll find this site a great help.

Head over to www.answerthepublic.com

Put a search term in the box and hit get questions and you’ll be presented with results for loads of questions people are asking in that particular niche.

In the below example I used the search term Law of Attraction and got the results below, this is only a shortlist of what is returned the actual page returned more than these and has you can see there are plenty of ideas you can get from these questions.

2. Full page screen capture (chrome extension)

This is a chrome extension that takes a full webpage screenshot very handy if you have a sales page that is usually very long – using this tool you can grab a screenshot of the whole page. Just by clicking the icon in your browser.

Which then gives you this hand option to save either as a pdf. Or as a png file, by clicking the download option as below.

Which brings up the below box.

This is a very handy tool to help you build your swipe file of not just only sales pages but opt-in pages or any website you like the look of.

To get this tool you can either click the link at the beginning of this section or you can enter full page screen capture into a google search.

Once you click the link you are then taken to this page.

Remember though this is for chrome, once installed it creates a camera icon in your chrome browser. If you’re using Firefox then there is a similar one called Page Screenshot, although I haven’t used this one.

3. Amazon.com

Amazon.com is great to get ideas for products and headlines ideas by checking the top-selling books and magazines. If you look through the chapters of the bestselling books you can get some great ideas for both content and product creation.

For example, by doing a quick search on Amazon.com for dog training books and you can see the results below, you get some good ideas on what headlines are being used in your niche.

Looking on Amazon I found this book…

101 Dog Tricks: Step by Step Activities to Engage, Challenge, and Bond with Your Dog which has 1,327 ratings, this headline uses the classic 101 ways headline. Clicking on the look inside option and going to the contents or chapters can give you an excellent idea of what to include in your content, what people are looking for. So instead of trying to rack your brain for ideas you can go to Amazon and get some great ideas there!

Another place to check is the Amazon reviews for bestselling books more particular for reviews 3 and below, you can find some great info here of what’s lacking in the product which can give you a better idea of what to include in yours.

First I’d like to start by thanking you for visiting my site…

I’m Zaf.

A Bit About Me

I’ve been blogging for about past two to three years, At the time of this post I’m 52 and an Internet Marketer hence the name Fifty Plus Marketer.

So, you may be thinking – Oh great another internet marketing guru!

Nope…far from it, the main reason I created this site is to record what’s worked for me, but just as important what failed. What I will be doing is recording tools and resources I’ve found useful and I think you would benefit from

I started in internet marketing through a course I took for affiliate email marketing, which made it sound so easy and simple, yeah right! How wrong was I…

Building an email list isn’t really that hard, but making sales from that list you build is a whole other ball game. I didn’t realize how much there was to it and although I built a list of 1000 subscribers I hardly made any sales, I was spending more than I was making.

But…

I learned how to create a simple funnel to collect email addresses, and how to find affiliate products to sell…I even learned how to get affiliate review copies of what I wanted to sell, for FREE which helped.

Like everyone, I was drawn to affiliate marketing specifically email affiliate marketing, to the idea of working from home or anywhere I chose, the lifestyle of just sitting on a beach with a laptop and making a living…boy was I naïve in believing it was that easy.

I took an affiliate email marketing course which at the time wasn’t cheap, and this was my first introduction to both internet marketing and affiliate marketing, before this, I never tried affiliate marketing, I knew absolutely zero about it.

At first, I found this overwhelming there was so much to learn, I had to learn and set up an opt-in page, how to link this with an autoresponder and create a lead magnet to collect email addresses.

How to send traffic to this opt-in page using solo ads, as this was the quickest of the traffic strategies, I chose this. And on top of this how-to-use tracking software to both monitor traffic that was sent to my opt-in page and for accurate tracking of links within my emails.

I currently work full time in a technical support service desk, so I will at first keep my posting to one every 10 days, dependent on time.
