  • Saved By A Chimp?

    Saved By A Chimp?

In 1952 The Today Show aired with Dave Garroway as host…

The show wasn’t doing very well at all.

That is until the addition of J. Fred Muggs…

Now J. Fred Muggs was no ordinary man, nope.

He wasn’t a man at all, but a Chimpanzee dressed in diapers like a baby…

becoming an overnight sensation and signed up by NBC to appear daily.

(And quite literally ‘Saved The Day’.)

The introduction of Muggs with a prominent role caused Jim Flemming, the original newsreader to quit who then was replaced by Frank Blair.

Frank became a legendary member of the Today Show and NBC News from 1953 – 1975.

Now the crazy thing is that Muggs not only boosted ratings…

…but said to have brought the network a lucrative $100 million in advertising revenue.

(You can imagine them sitting there, rubbing their hands together at the thought of all that money, eh?)

Mugs mastered more than 500 words and had a wardrobe of 450 outfits.

(I’m bloody lucky if I’ve got even 10, lol.)

He read the day’s newspapers and imitated Popeye…

He was such a BIG TV celeb that there were books, comics and games featuring him…

…and he was called upon to open supermarkets and commission US Navy ships.

    Zaf.

P.S. [FINAL EMAIL] You don’t need to be a Chimp called Muggs to know that Micro Models and case studies are important…

There’s no getting around the fact that human beings get too distracted to sit and think in the modern world…

just try shutting off your phone and apps and letting your mind go free. It’s not easy.

But what IS easier is reading and gaining inspiration and insight from what other business people are successfully doing.

And that’s what you exactly get in Ten Micro Models.

So what sort of models are these?

Here are 3 models to give you an idea:

Model #3 is a way of concentrating a certain income method into just a few days a MONTH, on your own terms and to fit in with your own schedule and lifestyle (this is one of Tony’s favourites)

Model #6 is a $4,000 a month offline case study from someone who has NEVER done this before. She saw a weakness that she thought offline marketers had (I wasn’t too sure myself) but she proved me wrong and made this work

Model #8 is another favourite of Tony’s. Tony’s written about similar in the past and there’s no doubt in my mind that this simple but little-used model is one that can be operated by anyone who enjoys writing at any level. The chap in the case study makes around $5,000 a month from this.

  • Do you ever feel like quitting?

Do you ever feel like quitting?

Do you ever feel like quitting?

I know I have many times when I was first starting out online.

(And for a brief time, I did.)

There’s a great quote by Thomas Edison that goes:

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”

I wonder if he ever used that as his mantra when he was trying to create the lightbulb.

I think if you haven’t seen any sort of success online yet…

then it’s harder to stay motivated especially when everything you do doesn’t seem to yield any results.

    That’s the problem I had…

And to help get over this mental block I’d remember what Less Brown mentions in one of his audio books…

     That is:

If someone has done what you want to do…

say to yourself it’s possible I can do this too.

Combine this with a clear purpose or vision and the most important of all ACTION.

Edison’s vision was to see electric lighting throughout the world.

Like Edison said: Vision without execution is hallucination.

    Zaf.

P.S. If you’re stuck for ideas to execute in your business why not kickstart yourself with…

    Tony Shepherd’s Ten Micro Models.

These are 10 Clever & Proven Micro-Models that you can replicate and adapt…

    Starting with $0 – $100

    Some of the Models covered:

Model #1 exploits a typical internet marketer’s ‘professionalism weakness’ and shares how it’s possible to wait and watch while they create a market for YOUR product and then you step in and make a killing from the inherent ‘weakness’ of their product and after service.

This is the only model that takes more than $100 to set up. It’s worth it though.

Model #5 is the perfect example of how to turn something you give away for free into a very nice respectable stream (in the case of the person in this case study it’s $10,000 a month). This is one for people who don’t like actively selling too much.

Model #9 is something you’ve all experienced as a consumer or customer and it’s simple and obvious. But wait until you see some of the tweaks you can make to this model (that very few internet marketers use) that can really ramp up the income.

  • Want a laugh? Watch this.

    Want a laugh? Watch this.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been watching a Netflix series.

    Friday Night Dinner…

(Something my daughter had been watching. And that got me watching it.)

It’s a UK sitcom about two brothers who share their Friday-night dinners at their parents’ home, no matter what, something always goes wrong.

There are 6 seasons in total and I finished the last one Saturday.

If you want a good laugh, then watch this.

Some of the things they get up to are hilarious…

The main characters are the mum and dad played by Tamsin Greig and Paul Ritter.

    (Jackie & Martin Goodman.)

Two brothers Adam and Johnny played by Simon Bird and Tom Rosenthal…

    nicknamed Pussface and Pissface.

And their neighbor Jim played by Mark Heap and his dog Wilson.

A bit of an unusual neighbor to say the least lol.

In the last email I sent I mentioned how humor can be used in marketing to build a following…

And Friday Night Dinner is another great example of this!

Another great thing to do is use case studies in your marketing and products and they don’t need to be your own.

And one person who’s done this quite well? See the P.S. below.

    Have a great Monday.

    Zaf.

P.S. Case studies are a great way to get ideas of what to use in your business or even build a business around.

And in Tony Shepherd’s publication Ten Micro Models.

These are ten clever (and I think very interesting) micro-models.

Most of them aren’t Tony’s. Most are online-based. A couple are offline based but ALL of them are PROVEN to work.

These micro-models aren’t just theory though.

In this publication, Tony presents them as actual case studies…

showing how the operators run the model, the strategies they put in place and the results they got.

    What you get:

    • 10 Proven Micro-Models you can replicate.
    • No fluff 40-page PDF publication revealing 10 fantastic Ideas to either create a new business or add to your existing one. These case studies cover everything from affiliate marketing to hands-free (as much as possible) automated systems… that need maintenance once set up.
    • Fantastic If you’re stuck for ideas that can be easily replicated!

  • How NPS is using humour to create fans

How NPS is using humour to create fans

Saturday morning is usually when me and the wife tend to bath our two dogs…

Tilly and Tiny two Shih Tzu’s, Tiny the smallest one always comes out shivering.

And always reminds of a scene from ET where ET has a towel around his whole body with only his head peeking out, lol.

I came across an interesting article about the National Park Services…

They’ve been getting a lot of attention lately on their social media accounts, especially on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

They’ve been infusing humour into one-liners, or hooks to get people’s attention.

Using these to grab the reader’s attention which then leads into the rest of the story and other resources.

(A good marketing lesson there and something anyone can use in their posts, eh?)

The guy behind the NPS posts is Matt Turner who often ties the posts to pop culture or familiar memes.

If you look at Instagram, you can see this must be working particularly well for them…

with 5.7 million followers and with 220.4k views on one of their X (Twitter) posts.

  • One interesting fact about Leonardo…

    One interesting fact about Leonardo…

Everyone’s heard of Leonardo Da Vinci…

There have even been films made about him.

Considered as one of the most prolific inventors in history…

…that spent hours upon hours creating and concocting inventions and innovations.

In a variety of fields including flight, warfare, and public water systems.

But did you know that Leonardo da Vinci’s last name…

Da Vinci wasn’t his last name?

(I didn’t either, that is until 5 minutes before writing this email, lol.)

His actual full name was Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci.

    da Vinci means…

    “From Vinci”, Florence Italy.

    (The place he was from.)

     Anyways…

A while back I managed to license a few of Nick James products.

If you know who Nick James is then you know he creates some quality products…

  • Want to hear a corny joke?

Want to hear a corny joke?

Why was Cinderella so bad at soccer?

She kept running away from the ball… Hahaha

I know it’s a bit of a corny joke, eh?

    But you know what?

Lots of people run away from things they don’t like or that makes them feel uncomfortable.

And this can manifest in different ways…

Take for example being in internet marketing you know you should build an email list…

that you should get that lead magnet out there, but you’ve not gotten around to it…

you could feel like you’ve nothing to share.

Even though you may have been in that niche for a while and know quite a lot.

Imposter syndrome as it’s known stops a lot of people from getting started online.

and you may be surprised to learn that this affects marketers at various levels.

From beginners to those making regular income online.

When you look around at what everyone else is doing and see how well they’re doing compared to you.

It can make you bloody moody, lol.

Think it was Tony Shepherd who said something like when you start out

“you should focus on what you’re doing…

Not what other marketers are doing.”

    Speaking of which…

You might want to take a look at Tony Shepperd’s 8 modular course’ that I’ve secured co-branding to…

  • Are you on the road to nowhere?

Are you on the road to nowhere?

I was reading an email today from a marketer…

about 3 major factors that stop people from being successful.

And the one that stood out to me was about not knowing where we’re going.

(Something I felt like many times.)

There was a quote from Henry Kissinger:enH

“If you don’t know where you are going, every road will get you nowhere”.

Reminds me of something Less Brown mentioned in one of his audiobooks…

    Something like:

Most people aim for nothing and hit nothing right dead on the head.

By not having a clear vision of where we want to go or what we want to achieve we can end up going around in circles.

Of course, most of us know that we should set goals, but how many do?

    Zaf.

P.S. Is your goal to create a money-making business?

Would you like to learn to build a holistic system that incorporates list-building, product creation, affiliate marketing and other core income streams

depending on what your strengths are, but the difference is we’ll be creating a microcosm – a nano-business that is madly effective in terms of income creation but doesn’t end up being a huge, clumsy monstrosity of a business that saps all your time and energy.

That’s what you learn and more in Tony Shepherd’s 8 Module course which I’ve secured co-branding to…

    Flipping The Switch

This is some of what you learn:

You’ll know exactly what you should be doing every day on your business and you’ll be able to watch it grow and profit without worrying about the latest trends and fads (unless you want to be the person who profits from them -I’ll show you how!)

You’ll have a proven system to work from that you can see working because I’ll give you examples from my own business and other marketers, clients and contacts I know too

You’ll finally have a direction in your business and when your profits start to arrive you’ll finally understand what scaling and repeating means in terms of income.

    And more!!

  • Recovered after 28 years…

    Recovered after 28 years…

This morning, I was reading an article I came across…

You may have seen it especially if you’re a Formula One fan.

Former Formula One driver Gerhard Berger’s Ferrari was recovered by Scotland Yard.

     After 28 years…

(Bet he didn’t think he’d be seeing that again!)

It was one of two Ferrari sports cars stolen, a red F512M Testarossa at the San Marino Grand Prix at Mola.

And the last anyone had seen the car in almost 3 decades.

Until Ferrari reported to the Metropolitan Police (January of this year), they’d carried checks out on a car bought by an American buyer…

Through a British broker last year.

The value of the car is around $350,000…

Don’t that just make your mind boggle, eh?

Hope you’ve had a good day.

     Zaf.

P.S. Something that you’ll find nowhere near as costly…

This is a strategy that puts Tony ahead of 95% of affiliate marketers.

And saw him featured on leaderboards and winning prizes pretty much every time he promoted…

…and while he could comfortably live off his affiliate commissions alone he didn’t even consider affiliate marketing to be a major part of his business!

That’s how powerful this approach is, and he honestly believes anyone can do this with a bit of guidance and effort!”

You can now get access to Tony Shepperd’s 8 modular course which I’ve secured co-branding to…

  • A Slippery Situation

    A Slippery Situation

A few years ago, when my lad was in nursery…

At that time, we were living in a hilly part of the neighbourhood.

I think during that week we had a bit of snow and overnight it turned to ice.

So people were being extra careful including me in the morning on the way to the nursery…

And that day the school decided to close early due to the weather conditions.

I think it was about 12 pm when we got notified by the school that they were closing early.

As I went to pick my lad up from the nursery, that day it was extremely icy and there was a lot of black ice around, especially on the part we lived on.

The road I was walking down was quite steep and the pavements were just too bad to walk on, so I started walking down the road VERY carefully.

I remember seeing this guy at the top of the road (which is fairly long), start walking down.

I just caught a glimpse of him as his feet left the floor and his feet were up in the air.

The next minute this guy came whizzing helplessly past me on his back with his arms and legs waving around…

    And boy did I laugh…

It was like a scene out of a cartoon.

The bloke came to a stop at the bottom of the road and got up though probably a bit shaken.

(The rest of the way to school I just had a stupid grin on my face, hahaha.)

I managed to get to the nursery and back without landing on my ass or going skidding down the road myself …

I guess some would say it’s Karma if I had.

I think that day many people slipped over, and I just about managed to stay upright lol.

You may not want this slipping by see the P.S. below.

    Zaf.

  • Tin Lizzie

    Tin Lizzie

Picture this – back in 1922, this car race was up in Pikes Peak, Colorado…

Everyone was flaunting their new rides, and Noel Bullock came with his Model T, calling it “Old Liz.”

    Now, Old Liz wasn’t exactly a beauty…

    Nope!

With no paint and no hood – people started calling it “Tin Lizzie,” thinking it looked like a banged-up tin can.

But here’s the kicker – Tin Lizzie pulled off a surprise win, beating out fancier and pricier cars.

It was like, “Whoa, didn’t see that coming!”

This victory showed everyone that the Model T was a tough and speedy machine.

Newspapers went wild, and that’s how the nickname stuck for all Model T cars.

    Now, Henry Ford’s Model T was a game-changer for regular folks…

making it affordable, thanks to Ford’s clever assembly line that made things quicker and cheaper.

Prices dropped from $850 in 1908 to less than $300 in 1925.

    The Model T became a symbol of America’s modernization…

Ford sold a whopping 15 million of them between 1918 and 1927.

Tin Lizzies are usually thought of as being in black, but back then, you could grab one in grey, blue, green, or red.

The Model T had three styles:

    • Five-seat touring car
    • Two-seat runabout
    • Seven-seat town car, all riding on a 100-inch-wheelbase chassis.

And if someone says, “Going the way of the Tin Lizzie”…

…they mean something old getting swapped out for something newer and better.

like an old belief or way of doing things.

    Cool, huh?

    Enjoy your Wednesday.

    Zaf.
