If you don’t know k-drama is Korean language television…

Shows that are made in South Korea.

(I didn’t know till I Googled what K-drama was.)

Netflix is due to release possibly the strangest small-screen shows to date.

Due to be aired on Netflix on 14^th March…

And the title?

Chicken Nugget…

Yeah really!

Chicken Nugget is based on a webtoon…

and it’s about a father who turned his daughter into a chick nugget and is desperately trying to transform her back into a human.

When I read this, I thought really… well actually more like what the fcuk.

CRAZY eh?

There’s a short preview of the film on Twitter or X as it’s now known.

And it’s got 755.2K views and reposted 1,675 times with over 6K likes…

I guess Bill Glazier would class this as OUTRAGEOUS advertising.

I bet this as a loyal following with a lot of eager followers who just can’t wait for this to be aired.

Dan Kennedy would call this building your herd, and as Dan says:

“It’s one thing to have a client list, it’s a whole different thing to have a responsive and loyal list.”

On a Friday night and quite a few years ago…

I met up with a mate, then before I went out, I used to down a good volume of vodka.

That night we met up and went into a local nightclub in Notts think it was called the Palais.

That night I was more drunk than usual when my mate offered me some Acid.

I was going to take the whole lot being how tiny it was, I thought I could handle it no problem…

…but he persuaded me otherwise.

(I tell you I was bloody glad I did only take half.)

Later in the night in the nightclub, I must have looked like a Raving Rabid lol…

If you don’t know what a Rabid is It’s a cartoon and Rabids are Rabbit-like creatures that are well crazy.

Running does all sorts of crazy things.

I remember after I came out of the club I must have been shouting and not realized it…

as this lad with the girl across the road gave some weird looks.

On the walk home, things started to get weirder, it was raining, and the rain would suddenly slow down then speed up then slow down it was crazy.

I got home (then I lived at my mum’s) and got in bed, and I could hear the dripping of the tap.

The noise it made started to speed up and slow down…

It was like this all night and so loud I couldn’t get to sleep.

I didn’t touch another one of those things again.

Looking back now, I think…

“You must have been bloody crazy!”

Q. Do you need your own products?

A. Absolutely not. That’s the beauty of affiliate marketing.

You can get started just with your computer, internet access and a PayPal account. You don’t even need a website if you don’t want to.

Proving to be a bizarre event due to a chaotic and ridiculous series of incidents.

Consisting of a mix of seasoned marathoners and of unusual participants…

Named Felix Carbajal who arrived at the starting line in street clothes that was later modified by a fellow Olympian.      

The race was run during the hottest part of the day on dusty roads with only minimal amounts of water.

A 24.85 mile course, over rough terrain, and hills…

The chief organizer, James Sullivan wanted to test the effects of dehydration.

(Think I would have told him where to shove is test!)

And these conditions led to countless incidents…

One man, William Garcia nearly died from internal injuries caused by the dust.

Another suffered vomiting, one man was chased off course by dogs…

(Bet he ran like the clappers with those dogs at his heels.)

and Caribajal took a nap mid-race after eating rotten apples.

Fredrick Lorz hitched a ride for 11 miles after suffering cramps.

A guy was even given the first reported incidence of performance-enhancing drug use in modern Olympics by his support team.

Fredrick was initially declared the winner but later disqualified once it was discovered he’d cheated and hitched a ride.

The actual winner was Thomas Hicks.

Pretty dangerous marathon if you ask me…

A new study was published in the scientific journal Physiology & Behavior…

on self-sniffing (Olfactory self-inspection).

They were using an online questionnaire about self-sniffing. 209 volunteers took part in the study.

They answered questions about self-sniffing, hygiene, and disgust.

From this, they learned that:

1) The number one sniffed part of the body was the hands. Closely followed by the armpits, then hair, feet and breadth.

(I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a fat chance of getting one of my feet anywhere near my nose.)

2) The number one piece of clothing sniffed is…

Worn T-shirts followed by worn trousers, socks and underwear.

(hmm I don’t know about the underwear bit.)

They say one way to sniff one’s body odour is to smell worn clothing items.

3) There are three main types of self-sniffing

• Social acceptability self-sniffing: sniffing worn clothes, and body parts to make sure they don’t smell.
• Intimate self-sniffing: parts of the body you wouldn’t sniff in public, like the navel. (Now that would be a bloody impressive feat!)
• Cosmetic self-sniffing: Checking if the perfume or shampoo still smells on parts of the body, they applied it to.

4) Men & women sniff themselves differently

They found that men had a higher frequency of intimate self-sniffing whilst women had a higher frequency of cosmetic self-sniffing.

5) People with health problems sniffed themselves more

Scientists found people with more frequent health issues showed more social acceptability self-sniffing than healthy people.

A few months ago, I attended a seminar where I saw a big UK motivational speaker…

In London at the Royal Society of Physicians.

A guy called Adrian Webster…

And I tell you he was bouncing all over the place, think he mentioned he has ADHD either that or he was on speed, hahaha.

Though I have to say he was a great speaker and well sought after.

He mentioned he had written a book, co-authored with Dr Jack Lewis called Sort Your Brain Out. 

Intrigued I bought the book.

And it’s a good read that describes what our brains do and how we can get the most out of them.

One section on pages 91- 92 caught my attention…

It describes how our expectations can influence our experiences both positively and negatively.

And how restaurants, pubs, hotels, shops, and other places…

manipulate your expectations to the pricier options they have.

With lighting, music, scents and so on…

all aimed to influence that part of your brain…

influencing your sensory impressions in the most profitable direction.

(Fascinating stuff but a bit bloody scary too.)

I recall reading something like this in a copywriting book. Called something like creating a selling environment…

It described how a top art gallery that sold very expensive paintings…

gave anyone who walked in the red carpet treatment…

they’d have soft low lighting as they walked down a very long corridor with a red carpet.

Soft music was playing in the background before they entered a room with the painting.

All to put the unsuspecting visitor in the right buying frame of mind…

Something to be mindful of when visiting these places.

I was talking to my wife this morning and she looked out the kitchen window and said…

“It’s blooming raining again!”

Now I must agree I’m not too fond of the rain, especially that fine rain that completely soaks you…

and I had to take my lad to school in that rain this morning.

If I were to say what I hate the most…

The first thing that springs to mind is “pickled beetroot”, I remember the first time I tried it.

(And the last ever.)

When I was about 15 my mum got me to try pickled beetroot from a jar.

I still can recall the vinegary smell and texture as I bit into it, God it was damn awful.

The gut-wrenching feeling I felt as I started to gag on the taste…

and how the piece in my mouth shot out.

I thought that it was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever tasted next to Marmite.

If you haven’t heard of Marmite, it’s a UK spread with the well-known slogan…

“Love it or hate it!”

It was always advertised on UK TV; can’t say I’ve seen the ad in a while though.

And I don’t love it for sure, lol… 

Sometimes, the fear of not doing something we dislike can be stronger than continuing to do it.

(So, we keep right on doing it, stuck in a perpetual loop.)

Like working a 9 to 5 job… no job = no money.

A couple of years ago I think now…

Our usual weekend thing was to order a takeaway from the local chippy.

I ordered my usual which at that time was a chicken shish kabab.

And it was delicious.

The next morning, however, I woke and felt bad, I got bad stomach pains, feeling sick and diarrhoea.

I called the docs and got a callback.

(at that time, it was easy to get a same-day callback, not so now though)

After describing my symptoms and telling the doc which chippy I ordered from, she advised I had food poisoning…

apparently, that chippy we ordered from was under investigation for other cases of food poisoning…

(Just my bloody luck!)

I have to admit my memory is a bit sketchy on the exact details like I said it was a few years ago.

And from what I can remember that chippy got taken over by new owners.

Anyways…

A few months past and I all but forgotten about the incident that is until I got a letter through the post.

I was invited to participate in a survey, it seemed I’d got some rare or unusual type of food poisoning and they wanted to learn more about my experience.

I couldn’t believe it…

I showed the letter to my wife, and she thought it was bloody hilarious.

Needless to say, I didn’t order from that chippy again.
